We warmly invite you to submit your abstract for ISW 2028. Kindly follow the guidelines below to ensure your submission is complete and considered for presentation.

 General Submission Guidelines:

1. Deadline: abstracts for category 1 to 6 must be submitted online by 8 August 2025 at 23:59 CEST. Late submissions will not be accepted.
2. Abstracts for category 7 must be submitted online by 28 November 2025 at 23:59 CEST.
3. Submission Platform: Abstracts must be submitted via the official congress website: www.isw2028.com. Submissions via fax, postal mail, or email will not be accepted.
4. Confirmation of Acceptance: Notification regarding acceptance for abstract category 1 to 6 will be sent to the Presenting Author by 31 October 2025.
5. Notifications for abstracts category 7 will be sent at a later date.
6. Registration Requirement: To ensure inclusion in the final programme, the Presenting Author for abstracts in category 1 to 6 must be registered and the registration fee paid by 30 November 2027.
7. Language & Length: Abstracts must be written in English and limited to 250 words for category 1 to 7.
8. Structure: Abstracts should follow the structure:
9. Introduction – Material & Methods – Results – Conclusion
10. Tables or images may be uploaded in .png, .jpg, or .jpeg formats.
11. Originality: Abstracts must include at least 50% new data if they have been previously published or presented.
12. Change of Presenter: Changes to the Presenting Author after acceptance are only possible with a written request and approval by the Scientific Programme Committee.
13. Presentation Details: The date and time of your presentation will be shared with the Presenting Author by the end of January 2028 for abstract category 1 to 6 and posted on www.isw2028.com
14. Author Information: The Presenting Author’s name must match the one used in the official Congress Registration Form. 
15. Communication: All correspondence regarding your abstract will be sent to the Presenting Author's registered email address.
16. Presentation Type: Please clearly indicate your preferred presentation format:

• Oral only
• Oral or Poster
• Poster Exhibition only
• Poster with Discussion
• Video Presentation
• Each abstract may only be presented in one format.

1. Disclosure: All Presenting Authors must disclose any financial, commercial, or research-related conflicts of interest.
2. Copyright: Upon submission, all abstracts become the property of the International Society of Surgery (ISS/SIC), granting permission for duplication, publication, and distribution.
